GIVE ME A FACELIFT, BROTHER...

The more I look at those vintage watches retailed at the blogs, the more I’m attracted especially those that are full of blackheads, whiteheads and pimples, in urgent need of makeover. The more I look at them the more those watches seemed to react as if pleading with me to take them.  

I believe vintage watches have characters waiting to be rediscovered. Some of them might have gone through happy days serving their masters in their grant old days before being released in the market to find new homes.

 Vintage watches are like old international footballers. Given a new contract, a new team and a crafty manager, players like Sol Campbell could still turn out to be match winner.

So are vintage watches. I don’t believe they have served their last days of life. In fact what they need is another phase of life with a new owner or owners who would be able to chart new and elegant path.

Transforming vintage watches is a real challenge. Under the crafted hands of watch magicians, vintage watches could be calibrated, serviced, reconditioned and rereleased with a new coat and a new life.

I had the opportunity and pleasure recently to place the trust to an old and faithful friend with the right skill to make over and provide facelift to a few watches.

Goodness gracious me, I think they look pretty. Rather proud to adorn any one of them now and then.
